Homestay Holidays in France
The Homestay Programme enables students of the French language to visit France to share the daily life of a French family for two, three or four weeks during the summer. France is not only food and fashion, it is a large and powerful country (population 63 million) with a dynamic industrial and agricultural economy. A country steeped in history with a great literary and philosophical tradition and a beautiful language. The geographical situation of France at the crossroads of Europe and the Mediterranean, together with its diplomatic and political influence give it a key role in the European Union. Speaking French well is a definite career advantage.
It is well known that the improvement in spoken French is striking amount students who spend time in France and this made for good examination results. Spoken French will be of continuing importance and in our view, one of the best ways to get practical experience in speaking the language is tto spend a holiday in France with a French family and the younger the better. Sometimes Irish parents hesitate to send their children under 15 on a holiday abroad. In our experience, youngsters are not conservative, they have no build-in fear of change. Their view of life is fresh. Positive and spontaneous and this helps them to adapt naturally to a foreign environment. The student who starts going to France at an early age rapidly acquires confidence and ease in the use of a foreign language. We believe that the success on our programme depends on the selection of a suitable family for each participant.
The Homestay programme
Our Homestay programme is a two, three or four week educational holiday in France open to students between 13 and 18 years of age. Each student will be received by a French family for a period of two , three or four weeks. Sometimes our host families choose to receive their guests while they themselves are on holidays. The majority of families will be outside the Paris area. This programme includes
(i) A two, three or four weeks stay In the French family.
(ii) Meet & Greet service on arrival and departure dates at Paris CDG Airport.
(iii) Return travel between Paris and the French family’s residence. The Homestay programme does not include travel IrelandFranceIreland nor insurance.
