Dalmac´s Junior Summer English + Activity course has been successfully running since 1989. Many agents and students from those early days continue to work with Dalmac. Their much-appreciated loyalty a clear indication of their satisfaction.
Our Junior Summer English + Activity programme offers young students the experience of a lifetime. This highly energetic and fun packed language and activity course is renowned for its quality and attention to detail.
This Junior Summer course is based in St. Joseph ’s Convent School , in July and St. Catherine’s School in August. Both schools are located in Rush and offer modern and bright classroom facilities and full indoor and outdoor recreational facilities.
Safety
Dalmac offers an emergency 24-hour phone service for the convenience of parents and host families.
All Dalmac students are issued with a “Dalmac ID Card” which must be carried at all times.
Dalmac “backpack” schoolbags are issued to each Dalmac Student. It is mandatory for each student to carry their backpack at all times for identification.
Classes
English classes take place each morning, Monday to Friday. All Dalmac teachers are native English speakers with third level & EFL qualifications.
Dalmac is recognised in Ireland by the Department of Education and Science as an English Language School .
Every effort is made to ensure that there is a broad mix of student nationalities in each level.
Classes are fun packed with an emphases on oral, and aural skills.
Class materials are provided by Dalmac. In house exams and assessments are on a weekly basis.
An end of course report and certificate will be provided to each student.
Official TIE and Trinity examinations, are available to all students upon request (fees will apply). A supervised 30-minute study period takes place each afternoon to enable students to recall any new vocabulary learned through the course of the day & to complete any assignment given during their EFL class.
Afternoon Activities
All afternoon activities are conducted through English further immersing students into an English-speaking environment, providing a happy and relaxed atmosphere to improve oral and aural skills.
Each day a multiple selection of sporting and/or cultural activities are made available to students.
Students are encouraged to participate in these daily activities.
All afternoon activities are included in the course fees.

A selection of sports wear, equipment & library books are available for hire from our “Sports Shop” free of charge.
Dalmac’s Tuck Shop is open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and is within the school grounds. Ice cream, cold drinks, post cards, stamps and locker security keys are available.
Evening Social Programme
To further extend integration and communication, Dalmac offers a controlled and supervised private social programme to its students and local teenagers.
Evening activities take place three evenings per week and include:

• Treasure Trail • Basketball Tournament • Karaoke Show
Students attending evening activities held in venues outside Rush will be transported by private coach at no additional charge.
Weekly Excursions
In order to broaden each student’s experience and knowledge of Ireland , its history, culture and traditions, weekly excursions are provided, and are included in the course fee.
Excursions are each Saturday from 9:30AM- 5:30PM and weekdays on Tuesdays from 1:00PM- 5:00PM .

Team Spirit
Great emphasis and effort is made to ensure that each student participates in as many activities and events as possible. Upon arrival each student will be assigned to “clan” (Irish name for team or group). Daily and weekly tournaments and competitions are organised between the “clans” with a popular prize giving ceremony each week.
Dalmac’s Junior Summer Centre is an international school, welcoming students from over 8 different countries, including local Irish students who enjoy integrating with and befriending our foreign visitors while they also study language.
